Back to School...

Only six more days of sitting in the house with Emily, Bella, and Bailey. Depressing, to say the least. I cannot explain how much I have enjoyed being home with my babies. We wake up, drink coffee, and play all day long. You just can't beat a day like that. I have truly become a hermit and a big fan of Nick Jr. I cannot believe Emily is almost FIVE months..and it's time to go back to school! Next week is a big week for little Emily..daycare begins. We have made a couple of visits to the daycare and Emily just smiles from ear to ear when she is there. So, hopefully this is a good sign and she will enjoy her three days a week with her new friends. I am pretty positive I am going to have a much harder time than she is. I took her in the room today just to drop off some of her supplies and of course, I felt the tears coming! I mean come on..I wasn't even leaving her! Obviously, next week is going to be even harder than I thought. Here are a few random pictures from our lazy days at home.

Friends..

LOVE these little legs

Found my FOOT!!

Emily just loves her feet these days.

Introducing.....

Emily's first boyfriend!!! Ok..he was born June 25th, so this is a little late. Courtney, one of my very best friends from the good old CBU days, and her husband Ryan welcomed their sweet, little Harrison into the world this summer. He is adorable and Emily has claimed him..sorry ladies. But, baby J will be here around Christmas time..so Harrison, you might have a little competition!!

Aren't they sweet?!

Cereal Party!!!!

Let's Get Cereal!

Yes, cereal is obviously a big deal. Real food (absolutely disgusting real food) that you eat with a spoon! It really does not get much more exciting than this. But, as you will see, Emily does not agree with me in any way.

Emily already thinks I'm crazy..then I go and stick a spoon in her mouth?! She thinks I have lost it.

Not the yummiest..

Poor baby..it really is nasty.

Round 2...ended up a lot like Round 1

That was our first two experiences with cereal. She seems to like it a tiny bit more each day, but I still get this look a lot!

3 months...4 months

I am a slacker! I never posted any pictures from Emily's 3 month photo shoot! So here is a combination of the past two months. Emily is a different baby! She is smiling, playing, and just being adorable every day. Joe recently put the exersaucer together..and Emily is definitely a fan (for about 10 minutes at a time..but it's a start!). She is also loving her play mat and actually looks at the books when I am reading now. Bailey has also started to enjoy story time..Emily is still sleeping 8+ hours every night..naps are basically 30 minute cat naps..but we take what we can get around here. Unfortunately, in September, Emily will have to go to daycare so I can hurry up and graduate..only three days a week, so I actually think she might enjoy getting to interact with someone other than me every single day. I also think it really might be time for me to interact with society and not just Emily and the DVR. But, I really am so sad that my stay at home days are coming to an end..I guess it's time to start buying lottery tickets. Here are a few recent pictures!

I see you!

Loves her hands

Obviously playing too hard to even let go of the ring

Sweet girl and her baby

The Chittick kids watching their Mom workout (a rare event)..entertaining to say the least.

Excited face!

My sweet girl has WILD hair

Not so sure about this gloworm

These are the friends we hang out with while everyone else is at work.

As for the latest stats on Emily..she is 50th % for height (same as her 2 month check up), but dropped a little to around 30th % for weight (from 50th). Little squirt!

Fashion Statement

So, a few weeks ago..the morning after a long night out at a friend's wedding, Joe takes Emily to change her diaper and her clothes. He comes back with my sweet little girl looking like this. Wow..

Nap Time..or Not

Is my child spoiled at the young age of 3 months? She will nap all day long if you hold her..if not, then forget it. So the past couple of weeks, I have been determined to get this little girl to nap on her own...yea right. For example..today I rock her for a little bit and lay her down in her crib. Good start, right? No..she lays in the crib for 0.5 seconds and starts screaming, which I let go on for a minute..I walk in to put her paci back in her mouth, and she just smiles the biggest, cutest smile ever. I mean really? If it was acceptable for me to nap all day, trust me I would be doing it right this minute. So right now, Emily is in her crib making cute little noises/crying and NOT napping. Gotta love her.

Happy little girl in the morning...on her changing table, of course.

**I am so behind on posts..they are in the works.

Your First Room

Since I plan on printing this blog into a book for Emily one day, I want her to know all about her first room...my favorite room in the house.

Emily,
Your nursery has so many sentimental touches, I want you to know them all!

This is your room..and please notice, there you are on your changing table..your favorite place to be.

Your crib-This crib is a Jenny Lind that not only I slept in as a baby, but your Aunt Lauren, Aunt Shawn, and your cousins Graham and Reece also used it. I had planned on ordering you a new pale pink bed, but they discontinued the color. After this ordeal, I decided I wanted you to have a cream crib to match your furniture..so your Memmy decided to take on the painting..I think she might secretly regret this adventure, but it turned out beautiful! The mirror over your bed was from an antique piece Memmy has had for years..and once again, she decided to paint it for you. I think it makes the room. Grandma Jane added the layer to your cribskirt so it's extra girly!

Over your window-"May the Lord Bless You"
This was the name of my favorite song during youth group. We sang it after everything, and it was even read at your parents wedding. So, we ordered a decal for your wall, but it came in HOT PINK and looked horrible. So, your Memmy, the painter, once again took to the paint brush and it turned out great! I love it and think it is the sweetest quote ever.

Your Great Grandmother (Mamaw)
Unfortunately, you did not get the chance to meet her, but she is very present in your room. The chair is one of my favorite things in the room. It was originally bright blue and white..cute, but not for your room. So your Memmy had it recovered for you. It is called a "lady" chair..very fitting. The dresses over your favorite place in the room (the changing table) belonged to your Mother and Aunts when we were babies..Mamaw made the first two. We also have several of her handmade dresses in your closet waiting for you to wear. The candle on your dresser is made from the beautiful flowers from Mamaw's funeral. The candle looks like it was made for your sweet little room. You also have a few little knick knacks from her including the adorable bears and the lamp on your table. She's everywhere in your room :)

Mamaw's candle

The pictures over your closet were taken from a nursery rhyme book that belonged to Reece when he was a baby.

The adorable rocking horse was Graham's when he was little.

The kewpie dolls that your Daddy thinks are super creepy belonged to me and Lauren when we shared a room as little girls.
The little shoe on your dresser was Memmy's first shoe when she was a baby. They used to bronze the shoes as a keepsake..what a cute idea.

So, as you can see, you have little pieces of the past all over your sweet little room and I just love being in there.
